Police have been in attendance in the Forrest Beach area, north of Townsville, since 2.30pm yesterday, 3 July, following the location of a number of unidentified objects.

Three objects, which are suspected to contain hazardous chemicals, were located yesterday with a fourth located at 2.30pm today, 4 July.

A declaration was initially made under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) and has now been revoked after the objects were rendered safe by Queensland Fire Department (QFD).

Police are continuing to maintain a 50-metre exclusion zone around each of the four objects until their removal by partner agencies.

There is no danger to the local community and police are not investigating the incident.
