Police have charged four men after electronic goods were stolen from retailers across the Brisbane, Southern and South Eastern Regions this week.
It will be alleged that on Monday 20 April and Tuesday 21 April, four men attended home-entertainment and department stores at Browns Plains, Springfield Central, Mount Ommaney, Biggera Waters, Southport and Broadbeach Waters and stole high-value items including computers, electrical devices and perfume.
Around 1.25pm yesterday, 21 April, Gold Coast police were alerted to a stolen white Toyota Aqua station-wagon, which had been linked to stealing offences at the Biggera Waters and Southport retail stores.
The Toyota had been reported stolen from New South Wales on 27 March.
Using CCTV, police tracked the vehicle to a shopping centre at Broadbeach Waters.
Around 3pm, officers located the vehicle on Sunshine Boulevard, and four men were taken into custody nearby.
Two 20-year-old and two 22-year-old men – all from New South Wales – have each been charged with three counts of enter premises and commit indictable offence, two counts of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
All are scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court today, Wednesday 22 April.
