Detectives from Toowoomba, Warwick and Gatton Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) with assistance from the Darling Downs Tactical Crime Squad have charged a man following his alleged involvement in a number of property, vehicle and firearm offences across the Darling Downs District earlier this month.
Police will allege the man was involved in a robbery with violence incident on 7 April, where a 22-year-old woman was threatened with a firearm at a Wheatvale property before a number of offenders stole two vehicles from the scene.
On 19 April police will allege the man gained entry into a medical facility on North Street in Toowoomba at around 11.30pm removing a handbag before stealing a Hyundai i30 from the facility’s carpark.
It is further alleged the man attempted to steal a vehicle from a Fifteen Mile Road property at Murphy’s Creek around 6am on 21 April, before leaving the scene in the stolen Hyundai.
Polair later tracked the stolen vehicle to an address in Oakey where police arrested the man and took him into custody.
A 30-year-old Cunnamulla man has been charged with 17 offences including two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of robbery, enter dwelling with intent, attempted robbery, unlawful use of motor vehicle use intended for an indictable offence, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, deprivation of liberty, injuring animals, unlawful possession of a weapon category A/B, unlawful conduct with a weapon and trespass..
He is due to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court today 22 April.
