The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating following a fatal traffic crash in Caboolture this evening, 21 April.

At approximately 6.47pm, a Nissan Navara utility was turning right from Lynfield Drive onto Toohey Street when it struck a child.

The child, a three-year-old girl, sustained critical injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan, a 49-year-old Caboolture woman, remained on scene and is assisting police.

Anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage from around the time of the incident is urged to contact police.
