Detectives from the Ipswich Criminal Investigation Branch have charged two men following an altercation in Bellbird Park yesterday afternoon, 19 April.
It will be alleged that just after 2pm, a verbal disagreement occurred at a Whipbird Street address.
It is further alleged a 22-year-old Bellbird Park man has punched a 25-year-old Ipswich man and pulled him into the garage of the residence.
Allegedly a 21-year-old Bellbird Park man, also in the garage, has used a bladed weapon to wound the 25-year-old man, striking him four times around the torso area.
It is alleged the 22-year-old man has then used a garden hedging tool to strike a 24-year-old Augustine Heights man in the chest and back.
The group, including several witnesses, continued to fight, leading out into the street.
Upon police arrival the 25-year-old man was located in Eagle Street. He was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.
The 24-year-old man was located in Coleen Street Redbank Plains. He was also transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.
The 22-year-old man was located in Eagle Street and transported to Ipswich Hospital for treatment for minor injuries sustained during the fight. He was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.
The 21-year-old man was intercepted in Alice Street Goodna just after 9pm. He was arrested and charged with two counts of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.
Both men have been held in custody and will appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court today 20, April.
