Detectives have charged a man after two people were assaulted in Carrara on Tuesday morning.

It will be alleged around 4am a 38-year-old Carrara man and a 46-year-old Carrara woman were confronted by the man inside the Plateau Crescent residence.

An altercation has occurred, and the male victim received wounds to his torso, right shoulder and a cut to his face. The female victim also suffered an injury to the chest.

The man then fled the scene.

In an earlier unrelated incident, the same man allegedly attended the carpark of a fast-food restaurant on Hinkler Drive around 1.20am.

He met a 21-year-old man he had spoken with on social-media for the purpose of buying four luxury watches.

It will be alleged the man threated the 21-year-old man with a knife and demanded the watches.  The 21-year-old exited the vehicle, which was last seen fleeing on Pappas Way.

It will be further alleged at 3.30am the same man attempted to enter a house in Pappas Way but fled when the occupants heard noises and turned on a light.

An 18-year-old Carrara man has been charged with one count of attempted murder, assault occasioning bodily harm,  armed robbery, unlawful possession of category m weapon (knuckle dusters), enter dwelling with intent at night, attempt to enter dwelling at night, unlawful possession of explosive (ammunition) and two counts of possession of dangerous drugs (testosterone and cannabis).

He will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court, Wednesday, April 15.
