Police have charged a woman over the attempted murder of a 10-year-old girl at Yarrabilba on 12 March.
It will be alleged that on 16 March, police were notified that a 43-year-old woman had administered poison to herself and a 10-year-old girl who was known to her, causing both to become sick and vomit.
Both the woman and girl were transported to Logan Hospital and the girl was discharged that same day. Detectives from Logan District Child Protection Investigation Unit (CPIU) commenced Operation Yankee Streethawk to investigate the incident.
The woman remained in hospital and was released into police custody yesterday.
CPIU detectives have charged a 43-year-old Yarrabilba woman with one count of attempted murder (domestic violence offence).
She has been remanded in custody to reappear before Beenleigh Magistrates Court on 12 May.
