Centenary Crime Team have charged two teens following investigations into car theft and property offences in Brisbane’s south.
It will be alleged between 28 to 30 March the teens committed multiple offences across Penson Street and Frizzell Street in Stretton, Daffodil Crescent and Stockton Street in Calamvale, Sanctuary Drive in Forest Lake, and Orpheus Street, Whitsunday Street, Rokeby Drive and Orana Place in Parkinson.
Around 2.30pm, on 2 April, the boys were located on Awoonga Street in Marsden with the assistance of POLAIR, Logan and Ipswich Tactical Crime Squad.
It will be alleged a 17-year-old Crestmead boy attempted to flee but while jumping over a nearby fence into a backyard, he landed on a cactus sustaining minor injuries from the cactus spines.
It will be further alleged during the foot chase, the teen dropped a bag containing 10 vehicle keys and a small quantity of cannabis.
Officers quickly arrested the boy, and he was subsequently charged with 11 counts of attempted enter dwelling and commit and one count each of enter dwelling and commit, unlawful use of a motor vehicle (UUMV), possessing dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of suspected stolen property and wilful damage.
He was remanded in custody and is expected to reappear before Brisbane Childrens Court on 11 May.
A second teenage boy also attempted to flee by running into a nearby property but was arrested shortly afterwards by police with the assistance of the property’s occupant.
The 16-year-old Crestmead boy has since been charged with 11 counts of attempted enter dwelling and commit and one count each of enter dwelling and commit and UUMV.
He was remanded in custody and is expected to reappear before Brisbane Childrens Court on 20 April.

The South Brisbane District charges are several of the latest under Operation X-Ray Steeler, an ongoing district-led operation focused on preventing and solving crimes that cause harm to local communities and reducing the number of victims of crime.
Since the operation’s launch in October 2025, the district has charged more than 1,650 people on 4,800 offences. More than 330 of those people were juveniles on 1,300 charges.
The operation is further supported by the recently established Operation Yankee Forge, providing state-wide intel and specialist capabilities support to prevent, disrupt, and investigate unlawful use, robbery and unlawful entry offences.
