Police have charged an 18-year-old Mooroobool man and a 17-year-old Keriri Island boy following an incident in Earlville this morning, 25 March.
It will be alleged just before 6.20am, an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy assaulted a 58-year-old Earlville man at a bus stop at a Mulgrave Road shopping centre.
Shortly after, the males allegedly wounded a 24-year-old Edmonton man at the bus stop and stole property from him.
The males then allegedly assaulted a 69-year-old man who attempted to intervene, he sustained a significant head injury.
Police administered first aid to the two men with the 24-year-old man being treated for a wound to his chest and the 69-year-old man being treated for a head injury.
All three men were transported to Cairns Hospital.
A 52-year-old woman was also allegedly threatened with the knife while trying to assist the 24-year-old man.
Around 8.45am the males were taken into custody on Mestrez Street.
The 17-year-old boy was charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed, armed robbery, stealing, acts intended to cause bodily harm, serious assault of a person over 60 and common assault.
The 18-year-old was charged with one count each of serious assault whilst armed, armed robbery, stealing, acts intended to cause bodily harm, and common assault.
Both have been refused bail and will appear in the Cairns Magistrates and Cairns Childrens Courts respectively today, 26 March.
Police are continuing to appeal for anyone with relevant information or daschcam or CCTV vision around Mulgrave Road or Mestrez Street between 6am and 8.45am.
