Police are investigating a disturbance and assault on Nathan Street, Townsville this morning.
Early reports indicate a traffic incident occurred between a red Chevrolet ute and a white Ford hatchback around 7.45am.
It is alleged the driver of the ute, a 57-year-old Alice River man, and the driver of the hatchback, a 68-year-old Shaw man, engaged in a physical altercation.
The 68-year-old man has been transported to Townsville University Hospital for treatment.
The southbound side of Nathan Street is currently closed to all traffic.
Police are appealing for witnesses or persons with dashcam vision of the incident, to come forward.
