Police have charged a man following the grievous bodily harm of a man at Waterford West yesterday afternoon, 10 March.
It will be alleged that around 4.20pm, a physical altercation occurred between a group of people in a carpark on Bourke Street.
It will be further alleged that during this altercation, a 29-year-old Marsden man punched a 48-year-old Waterford West man in the face, causing him to fall and hit his head on the bitumen ground.
The 48-year-old man sustained a serious head injury and was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition, where he remains in an induced coma.
Police arrested the 29-year-old man at the scene.
A 29-year-old Marsden man has now been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm.
He is scheduled to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today, 11 March.
