Fortitude Valley Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a man and are appealing for witnesses and vision as part of ongoing investigations into a traffic crash in New Farm on 4 March.
At 12.33pm, it is alleged a 2008 grey Hyundai i30 travelling along Merthyr Road, towards James Street, crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a blue Maserati.
The passenger of the Hyundai, a woman aged in her 20s, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
The occupants of the Maserati, a 44-year-old Yeronga man and 45-year-old Yeronga woman, sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
Police arrested the driver of the Hyundai, a 39-year-old Greenslopes man, and charged him with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm, possession of utensils for use, carry exposed weapon in a public place, possession of a knife in a public place, and possessing relevant substances or things.
The matter first appeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court on 5 March where he was remanded in custody and is expected to reappear on 20 April.
Investigators are appealing for any witnesses, relevant dashcam or CCTV vision of the 2008 grey Hyundai i30 with Queensland registration 985LBL in the lead up to the crash come forward.
Investigations remain ongoing.
