The new Logan Hospital Precinct Police Beat has officially opened its doors and will continue the Queensland Police Service’s (QPS) commitment to meet local community safety needs.

The Loganlea Police Beat’s new Meadowbrook location seeks to improve operational efficiency to meet the increased policing demands from the precinct and its surrounds.

The Police Beat, which has moved from the corner of Station Road and Haig Road, Loganlea, will maintain its existing boundaries and continue to service suburbs of Loganlea, Meadowbrook and Waterford West.

The new hub will be staffed by four full-time police officers including a hospital liaison officer and will also include a safe space, a private and dedicated room designed for domestic and family violence victims and their children.

Acting Chief Superintendent Peter Miles said the new location was designed to enhance accessibility and response times for the QPS.

“A significant portion of the Beat’s work is centred around the hospital,” Chief Superintendent Miles said.

“Given the area is such a major hub, this new location ensures our officers remain visible, accessible and responsive to the needs of our community.”

Deputy Commissioner Regional Operations, John Tims said the new facility would continue to service the same area and maintain the strong community engagement focus previously delivered from the Loganlea Police Beat.

“While the location has changed, our commitment to supporting the Loganlea community remains exactly the same,” Deputy Commissioner Tims said.
