Detectives from the Logan Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a man following two robberies at Logan yesterday, 10 February.
At around 3.50pm, it will be alleged that a man entered a pharmacy on Pub Lane at Greenbank, where he claimed he had a firearm and demanded prescription medication.
No weapon was sighted, and the man left the store without obtaining any property.
A short time later, at around 4.05pm, police will allege the same man attended a pharmacy on Parklands Drive at Boronia Heights, where again he claimed he was armed and demanded prescription medication.
It will be alleged the man entered the dispensary area and left the store on foot with a quantity of prescription medication.
Police were called to both locations and, upon arrival to the Boronia Heights premises, officers observed the man leaving on foot and he was taken into custody without incident.
A quantity of prescription medication was recovered.
No firearm was located, and no one was physically injured during either incident.
A 31-year-old Greenbank man has been charged with one count each of attempted robbery – pretends to be armed, robbery armed, possessing dangerous drugs, and unlawfully possessing restricted (S4/S8) medicines.
He is due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court today, 11 February.
Investigations are ongoing.
