The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a traffic crash that left three people dead in Yarrabilba on 7 February.

Initial investigations indicate around 4.30pm, a white Toyota Hilux utility collided with a white Volkswagen station wagon on Waterford Tamborine Road.

The Toyota Hilux caught fire as a result of the collision.

The driver and sole occupant of the Hilux, an 18-year-old Marsden man, died at the scene.

The driver of the Volkswagen, a 65-year-old Stafford Heights man, and one of the passengers, a 33-year-old Kedron woman, also died.

A 65-year-old Stafford Heights woman and a 36-year-old Kedron man, travelling in the Volkswagen were transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with critical injuries. A 2-year-old girl, also travelling in the Volkswagen, was taken to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

No further information is available at this time.
