Police are appealing for information, including anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage, following a traffic crash in Cannonvale (Whitsunday) on 23 January.
Initial investigations indicate at around 11.15pm a dark coloured vehicle, believed to be similar to a late model Ford Everest, drove at speed on Island Drive and struck a 40-year-old Cannonvale man riding an e-scooter.
The man sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital.
The driver of the vehicle failed to stop at the scene or render assistance and left prior to police arrival.
Anyone who may have information that could assist in identifying the driver or vehicle is urged to contact police. Officers are also appealing anyone who was in the vicinity of Island Drive leading up to or after this incident with relevant CCTV footage or dashcam vision.
