The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal traffic incident at Emerald on 22 January.
Police and emergency services were called to an address on Jade Street about 4.50pm following reports that a blue Holden Trailblazer had struck a child.
A two-year-old girl suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Emerald Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident is urged to contact police.
Investigations are ongoing.
