A 29-year-old Gordonvale man is expected to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court today, charged in relation to the death of a woman yesterday, 18 January.

It will be alleged around 11.17am, police attended an address on Pritchard Close, Gordonvale in relation to reports of an armed man causing a disturbance.

After taking a man into custody, police allegedly located the body of a 29-year-old woman inside the residence.

The man has been charged with murder (domestic violence offence). Investigations into the incident are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact police.
