Police have detected a woman allegedly drink driving six times the legal limit in Tamborine Mountain yesterday, 11 January.

Officers were called to Main Street after the offender allegedly hit a telegraph pole and continued driving before being stopped by members of the public.

Police located the woman and her damaged Mazda CX-8 and conducted an initial roadside breath test (RBT) about 8.30am.

The driver, a 50-year-old Mudgeeraba woman, recorded a breath alcohol concentration of 0.303 per cent at North Tamborine Police Station.

She was issued with an immediate licence suspension and charged with one count of did drive under the influence of liquor.

She is due to appear in Beaudesert Magistrates Court on 3 February.
