The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for public assistance following their investigations into a serious traffic crash at Purga, south of Ipswich, on 3 January.

Initial investigations indicate that around 11.40am, a blue utility and a black motorcycle have collided on Ipswich–Boonah Road, causing the motorcycle rider to collide with a second utility.

At the time of the crash, the motorcycle rider was travelling north on Ipswich–Boonah Road towards Yamanto with two other riders.

The motorcycle rider sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash, or who may have relevant dashcam or CCTV footage, to contact police.
