Police have charged two men following multiple stolen vehicle incidents on 30 December.

About 11am, South Brisbane officers, with the assistance of Queensland Police Service’s Police Air Operations (POLAIR), began tracking three stolen vehicles – a silver BMW, a white Toyota Camry and a blue Mercedes.

It will be alleged the Toyota and the Mercedes had been stolen that morning from homes in Sherwood and Sinnamon Park.

The silver BMW was located at Monier Road, Darra around 11.45am and the Toyota was located shortly after on Ashridge Road, Darra.

Police will allege the men then stole a black GWM from an Alpine Crescent address in Chambers Flat at approximately 2.40pm.

The GWM was abandoned shortly afterwards at Park Ridge before the men allegedly returned to the stolen Mercedes and travelled north on the Pacific Motorway towards Brisbane City.

The driver of the stolen Mercedes, a 25-year-old Inala man, was taken into custody around 4pm after a successful tyre deflation device deployment on Ipswich Road, Woolloongabba at the entrance to the Clem 7 tunnel.

He sustained minor injuries and was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital.

POLAIR and South Brisbane Dog Squad continued to track the 21-year-old Acacia Ridge man after he allegedly fled the scene on foot.

He allegedly attempted to avoid arrest by hiding on the roof of a house on Mossgrove Street, Woolloongabba where he remained for approximately three hours.

After successful negotiations, the man surrendered to police.

He sustained minor injuries and was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital.

The 21-year-old Acacia Ridge man was charged with four counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and enter dwelling and commit, two counts each of dangerous operation of a vehicle and enter dwelling with intent, and one count each of unlicenced driving, fail to remain at scene of a crash, trespass, wilful damage, and attempted unauthorised use of a motor vehicle.

He has been remanded in custody and due to reappear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on 7 January, 2026.
