The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal, single-vehicle traffic crash in the Gold Coast Hinterland.

Officers were called to Gold Coast Springbrook Road, Neranwood, around 11am today, 27 December, following reports a white, Toyota Echo had been located down an embankment.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 55-year-old Aspley man, was located deceased in the vehicle.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the date it occurred, are ongoing.
