Police have charged a man in relation to two sexual assaults at massage businesses on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane over recent months.

It is alleged that around 4.30pm on Sunday 9 November, a 61-year-old man inappropriately touched a 17-year-old female client during an appointment at a Southport massage parlour operating inside a shopping complex on Marine Parade.

It is further alleged that around 10am on Friday 8 August, the man inappropriately touched a 29-year-old woman at a Chermside massage parlour, inside a shopping centre on Hamilton Road.

Following investigations, detectives arrested a man at a Biggera Waters shopping complex carpark yesterday, 22 December.

A 61-year-old Beenleigh man has been charged with two counts of sexual assault.

He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on 4 February 2026.

Gold Coast Child Protection and Investigation Unit Officer in Charge, Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Aubort said investigators are urging anyone with further information or interactions of a similar nature to come forward.

“We believe there may be more victims out there and are appealing to anyone who’ve experienced similar incidents at the massage businesses in the Gold Coast or Brisbane areas, or anyone with further information, to contact police.” Detective Senior Sergeant Aubort said.

“We acknowledge the bravery of the victim-survivors who have come forward in this investigation, and we want to reassure others who may have experienced anything similar that they are not alone, and there is support available to you.”
