Police are investigating a break and enter incident in which a man sustained a gunshot wound in Wellington Point this morning, 8 December.
Initial investigations indicate that around 1am, a group of offenders had attended a Mander Court address before gaining access and confronting the residence’s occupant.
A member of the group then discharged a firearm at the 25-year-old male resident, striking him in the foot. The group then stole several items from the property before fleeing the area in a Dodge Ram utility truck parked at the location and a BMW X5.
Emergency services arrived a short time later, and the 25-year-old man was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police believe this to be a targeted incident, and there is no current threat to the public at this time.
