Detectives have charged a 47-year-old Woree man following investigations into the death of a 76-year-old man in Earlville yesterday, 6 December.

Around 8am emergency services were called to reports of a sudden death in Mulgrave Road.

Police will allege the 47-year-old man who is known to the deceased has aided him in his death.  

An investigation was launched and a crime scene declared around 11.45am.

As a result of these investigations, the 47-year-old Woree man has been charged with aiding suicide.

He is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on 9 January 2026.
