The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a serious single e-scooter crash in Deception Bay early this morning, 5 December.

About 4.40am, an e-scooter was travelling along Deception Bay Road when the male rider lost control and crashed.

No other vehicles or persons were involved.

The rider, a 46-year-old Rothwell man sustained serious head injuries, and was transported to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Investigators are appealing to anyone with relevant information, CCTV or dashcam vision to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
