Detectives from the Ayr Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a man following the execution of a search warrant at a Fredericksfield address on 22 November.

Around 2.00pm police attended the Linton Road address and located a number of firearms, one of which was illegally modified.

Police also located a quantity of cannabis.

A 44-year-old man was taken into custody at the address.

The man was subsequently charged with four counts of unlawful possession of a weapon and one count each of receiving tainted property, possess shortened firearm(modified), possess dangerous drugs and possess utensils.

Investigations are ongoing.

The man is due to appear in Ayr Magistrates Court on 27 January 2026.
