Detectives from the Ipswich Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a man following investigations into multiple reported indecent act incidents in the Ipswich and North Brisbane area.

It will be alleged that the man wilfully exposed himself to two teenage girls in the Newstead area on 9 September, before repeating the act in the Springfield Central area on 7 October.

It’s further alleged that between Monday, 3 November and Thursday, 6 November, the man conducted several more wilful exposure offences within the Springfield Central area.

Following investigations into these incidents, detectives executed a search warrant at a Deebing Heights address, where they located a 35-year-old local man and took him into custody.

He has since been charged with five counts each of indecent treatment of a child under 16, wilful exposure, two counts each of indecent acts, unlawful stalking.

He was refused police bail and is due to appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday, 10 November.

Ipswich Criminal Investigation Branch Detective Senior Sergeant Tim Martin says investigators are urging anyone with further information or similar interactions to come forward.

“Crimes of this nature are disturbing, especially for persons so young, and our officers work tirelessly to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.

“We recognise that experiencing and reporting offences of this nature can be difficult, and I want to acknowledge the bravery of the victims who have come forward.

“We encourage anyone who has information or who has had interactions of a similar nature to come forward either directly to us or anonymously to Crime Stoppers.”
