Carseldine Criminal Investigations Branch have charged a man with 27 offences following investigations into an alleged stolen silver Toyota with firearms and drugs located inside it in Margate on 2 November.
Around 2.30pm, officers noticed a vehicle running on Boyce Street following reports a man appeared to be under the influence inside.
Officers observed what they alleged to have been a sawn-off shot gun under the driver’s seat.
The man was arrested, and it is further alleged a search of vehicle located a revolver, dangerous drugs including methylamphetamine, gamma hydroxybutyrate, suboxone and cannabis, a knife, firearm suppressor, .22 calibre bullets, two home-made bongs, drug utensils, hypodermic syringe and needle, and stolen power tools.
The vehicle was fitted with alleged fake registration plates and had allegedly been stolen from a Torrens Road, Caboolture South address on 13 October.
The 24-year-old Burpengary man was charged with 23 offences including five counts of offence to buy or possess S4 or S8 medicines or hazardous poisons, three counts of possessing dangerous drugs, two counts of unlawful possession of weapons category H / R, and one count each of enter dwelling and commit, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, receiving tainted property, unlawful possession of weapons category B, things that purport to be, but are not, number plates, possess shortened firearms, possession of knife in a public place, authority required to possess explosives, possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3 but less than Schedule 4, possess pipes or utensils etc that had been used, possession of anything used in the commission of crime defined in Part 2, and unlawful possession of suspected stolen property.
Further investigations indicate the man was allegedly involved in two incidents north of Brisbane last month where shots were fired.
At 8.50am on 26 October, it is alleged the man fired a shot into a 77-year-old Keperra man’s car during a road rage incident on Gympie Arterial Road near Bald Hills.
At 1:40pm on 31 October, police will allege the man fired a shot into a 46-year-old Burpengary man’s car door following during a road rage incident on the Gateway Motorway near Bracken Ridge.
No one was physically injured during the incidents.
The man was charged with an additional two counts each of dangerous conduct with weapon and unlawful possession of weapons category H weapon – firearm used to commit indicatable offence on 4 November.
He was remanded in custody and is expected to reappear before Redcliffe Magistrates Court on 1 December.
Investigations are ongoing.
