Police have charged a man following a traffic crash at Burleigh Waters on Saturday afternoon, 18 October.
Around 5pm, police were called to the intersection of Bermuda Street and Lake Orr Drive following a two-vehicle crash.
It will be alleged that a grey Volkswagen Golf bearing stolen registration plates was driven in an erratic and dangerous manner around the Varsity Lakes area, before colliding with the rear of a white Toyota Hilux.
The driver of the Volkswagen allegedly left the scene in the vehicle prior to police arrival.
Officers located a man a short time later on Carnamah Lane and he was taken into custody.
A 35-year-old Rochedale South man has subsequently been charged with multiple offences, including one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, driving while disqualified by court order (repeat offender), unregistered vehicle, driving an uninsured vehicle, failing to comply with the duties of a driver involved in a crash, receiving tainted property, wilful damage of police property, and contravening a direction or requirement of a police officer.
He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court today, 20 October.
