The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash at Mount Louisa, Townsville, yesterday, 18 October.

Initial investigations indicate that around 6:30pm, a maroon Ford Falcon sedan was travelling along Ingham Road when it left the roadway and went down an embankment.

A 30-year-old Kirwan man, who was a passenger in the sedan, was treated by emergency services but tragically died at the scene.

The driver, a 31-year-old Mount Louisa man, and two other occupants of the vehicle, a 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old man, both from Kirwan, were transported to hospital as a precaution.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to contact police.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations are ongoing.
