The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash at Maroochydore last night, 16 October.

Initial investigations indicate that around 10.50pm, a grey Volkswagen sedan was travelling along Maroochydore Road, approximately 200m west of Broadmeadows intersection, when it collided with a tree.

The driver of the sedan, a 21-year-old Nepalese man, was declared deceased at the scene.

Police are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to contact them.

Investigations are ongoing.
