Police have charged two men following an incident involving a stolen vehicle yesterday, 13 October.

Officers began tracking a Skoda Octavia, allegedly bearing false numberplates, from Dreamworld Parkway in Coomera around 11.10am.

It is alleged the vehicle was stolen from a Commodore Drive residence in Surfers Paradise on August 23.

With assistance from POLAIR, officers tracked the vehicle for a period before Tyre Deflation Devices (TDD) were successfully deployed twice in Upper Coomera.

The Skoda then came to a stop a short time later at an Upper Coomera residence, where two male occupants entered a Toyota Hilux.

Police continued to track the Hilux southbound on the Pacific Motorway to Robina, where it stopped in a shopping centre carpark.

It is alleged the two occupants than fled the vehicle on foot.

Officers located one of the men, a 35-year-old from Parkwood, in the shopping centre and took him into custody around 1.12pm.

The other man, a 22-year-old from Helensvale, was located a short distance away on Scottsdale Drive around 1.30pm, and also taken into custody.

A 35-year-old from Parkwood man has been charged with seven offences including two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of dangerous driving and possessing dangerous drugs.

A 22-year-old Helensvale man has been charged with six offences including two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of dangerous driving.
