The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal single-vehicle motorcycle crash in Canungra this afternoon, 11 October.

Initial investigations indicate that around 2pm, a motorcycle was travelling along The Goat Track, Tamborine Mountain Road, Canungra, when it left the roadway and went down an embankment.

The rider, a 48-year-old man from Marulan, NSW, was treated by emergency services but sadly died at the scene.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to contact police.
