Police have charged a man following a vehicle intercept at Toolooa on 28 September.

Around 2.20pm, police intercepted a blue Commodore Sedan on the corner of Squire and Tuna Streets and the vehicle was detained for a search.

During the course of the search, police will allege an amount of methylamphetamine, a number of large hunting knives, and a homemade handgun were located.

The vehicle was declared a crime scene and a further search revealed 3D-printed firearm parts and ammunition, and drug utensils.

A 37-year-old Frenchville man has been charged with one count each of unlawful possession of weapons (handgun), authority required to possess explosives (ammunition), possessing dangerous drugs (methylamphetamine), possessing a knife in a public place, possessing property suspected of having been used in the commission of a drug offence, failure to dispose of a needle and syringe, learner drive unsupervised, and contravention of a domestic violence order.

He has been remanded in custody and due to reappear before Gladstone Magistrates Court on 29 October.
