EARLIER: Police are appealing for urgent public assistance to locate an 8-year-old boy reported missing from Burpengary East this evening, 1 October.
The boy was last seen at a property on Magnetic Street around 7.36pm and has not been seen or heard from since.
Family and police have concerns for his welfare due to his age and as he has a medical condition.
A search is underway in the Moreton Bay area utilising POLAIR and police conducting foot patrols.
Residents in the area are urged to return to their homes and check sheds, yards, backyards and in, under and around under boats, cars, and trailers.
Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts or CCTV vision of the missing boy is urged to immediately contact police.
