Police have charged a 25-year-old man following an investigation into a burglary with violence in Warwick on 21 September.

Around 9pm the man attended a Coe Street address where he allegedly assaulted a 32-year-old woman after forcing his way inside the property.

The man left the property a short time later after allegedly being confronted by a 28-year-old male resident.

It is further alleged before leaving the scene the man repeatedly drove his car into a vehicle parked in the driveway before steering his car into a fence causing extensive damage.

The 32-year-old woman received minor injuries.

Officers from Warwick’s Criminal Investigation Branch with assistance from the Public Safety Response Team located the man at a nearby property on 23 September where he was taken into custody.

During a search of the premises police seized drugs, drug utensils, a replica handgun and stolen property.

A 25-year-old Warwick man has been charged with two counts of common assault and one count each of enter dwelling with intent, assault occasioning bodily harm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving without a license, possessing a restricted item, possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence and failing to dispose of a syringe.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in the Warwick Magistrates Court on 10 November.
