Police have charged a man following reports of a vehicle being driven dangerously across the Gold Coast yesterday afternoon, 23 September.

Around 1.40pm, police received multiple calls regarding an orange Ford Ranger allegedly swerving across lanes on the Gold Coast Highway through Southport and Surfers Paradise.

The vehicle was tracked on CCTV and located a short time later on Old Burleigh Road, where officers intercepted it at Second Avenue without incident.

The driver was taken into custody and transported to hospital for assessment. 

A 48-year-old Carrara man has been charged with did drive U.I.L. and possess utensils or pipes etc. for use.

He is due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court on 8 October.

Investigations are continuing.
