Bayside Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) detectives have charged a 41-year-old man following an investigation into the attempted armed robbery of a business in Wynnum on August 15.

It will be alleged that at approximately 5:55am, the man entered a business on Edith Street, where he threatened an employee with a weapon, demanded cash, and then fled on foot.

On September 19, detectives from Bayside CIB executed a search warrant at an address on Andrew Street, Wynnum, seizing several items including black pistol gel blasters, a balaclava, and clothing alleged to have been used during the offence.

The man was arrested and charged with one count of attempted armed robbery.

He is due to appear before Wynnum Magistrates Court tomorrow, September 20.

Detective Inspector Wayne Francis said, robbery offences cause significant community harm and that extensive investigations had been undertaken.
