Upper Mount Gravatt Criminal Investigation Branch and detectives from Taskforce Maxima have charged a man with multiple offences following investigations into shots being fired at Rochdale property on 2 August.

At approximately 4.30am, three men allegedly attempted to break into a Fisher Street property before being confronted by a male occupant.

It will be alleged the group shot the 30-year-old Rochedale man several times and shot a 34-year-old Rochedale woman’s arm.

The man and woman were transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital, where the man remains and the woman has since been discharged, for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The men are alleged to have fled the scene on foot before police arrival.

It is further alleged the group were known to each other and this was a targeted incident.

Extensive police investigations led to the arrest of a 29-year-old Carina Heights man during a search warrant in Manly this morning, 5 August.

The 29-year-old man has been charged with six offences including two counts of dangerous conduct with a weapon, and one count each of attempt to murder, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and attempted arson.

He is expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on 6 August.

Investigations are ongoing.
