A man has been charged following a homicide investigation on the Gold Coast last night, June 28.
Police will allege a 44-year-old Gold Coast man suffered injuries to his head after he was assaulted by a 28-year-old Stafford Heights man at a Beale Street, Southport property around 9:30pm last night.
Emergency services were called to the address at approximately 9:50pm following reports a man was found unresponsive in a vehicle on Beale Street.
The 44-year-old man was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital, where he later died.
Officers were notified of the man’s death early Sunday morning.
A crime scene was declared at Beale Street and investigations began into the circumstances of the man’s death.
A 28-year-old Stafford Heights man was taken into custody this morning and has since been charged with murder.
He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow, June 30.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have relevant information that may assist investigations to come forward.
