Queensland Police are investigating an armed robbery in Chermside with a crime scene declared this afternoon, June 10.

Initial investigations indicate shortly after 5pm, a group of four males, armed with hammers, metal bars and wearing masks, entered the Gympie Road jewellery store.

The group then smashed a number of glass cabinets and stole a large amount of jewellery before leaving in a grey Honda CR-V station wagon.

It is believed the Honda was stolen from a Calamvale address on Sunday, June 8.

A male employee, who was working at the time, was struck in the head with a hammer during the incident.

He was transported to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.

Anyone with dashcam or CCTV of the area in the moments leading up to or after the incident, to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
