Police have charged four teenagers following a traffic crash involving a stolen vehicle last night, May 25.

It will be alleged around 9.45pm, emergency services were called to the Pacific Motorway at Coomera following reports a black BMW X6 had crashed into a blue Toyota RAV 4 and silver Toyota Hilux in the northbound lanes.

The BMW, allegedly stolen from a Mermaid Waters residence on Friday, May 23, then left the scene without stopping.

The driver of the RAV4, an 83-year-old Southport man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital.

Police, including Polair, continued to track the BMW and the offenders to a Highland Park address, where they dumped the stolen BMW X6 and entered a black BMW X5.

Police continued tracking the BMW X5 to Theatre Street, Oxenford, where all four offenders then fled on foot into surrounding streets and parkland.

A 14-year-old Coomera boy and 14-year-old Elanora boy were located by police on Hollywood Place a short time later and were taken into custody.

A 14-year-old Varsity Lakes boy and 16-year-old Biggera Waters girl were located nearby on Village Way and were also taken into custody.

The 14-year-old Coomera boy was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle – use in the night in company and another, unrelated offence and is due to appear in Southport Childrens Court tomorrow, May 26.

The 14-year-old Elanora boy was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle – use, driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence – never held licence, enter premises and commit indictable offence and other offences and is due to appear in Southport Childrens Court tomorrow, May 26.

The 14-year-old Varsity Lakes boy was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle – use in the night in company, possessing dangerous drugs and other offences and is due to appear in Southport Childrens Court tomorrow, May 26.

The 16-year-old Biggera Waters girl was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle – use in the night in company and is due to appear in Beenleigh Childrens Court tomorrow, May 26.

All four teenagers were refused police bail.

Investigations are ongoing.
