On Easter Sunday a Townsville Highway Patrol officer allegedly intercepted a motorcyclist riding more than 110km over the speed limit in Annandale.
It will be alleged around 8.45pm on April 20, a male rider was detected travelling at 198km/h in the 80km zone on University Road.
The 34-year-old West End man received a $1,854 fine, eight demerit points and six-month high-speed suspension.
Acting Chief Superintendent Chris Lawson said it was extremely disturbing and disappointing to see such unsafe behaviour on our roads at any time.
“It’s not just your licence at risk when you travel at such a dangerous speed, you are putting yourself and other road users at risk of death or serious injury.”
