Police have charged a man following a robbery with violence in South Townsville last night, April 15.
Around 11.50pm, two 67-year-old men were outside a hotel on Palmer Street, when police will allege, they were approached by a 45-year-old man who assaulted the pair and stole a wallet from one of them men.
The man whose wallet was stolen was transported to Townsville University Hospital with minor injuries.
A 45-year-old Gulliver man was arrested a short time later in Townsville City and has been charged with one count each of robbery and serious assault.
Police opposed bail and the man is due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court today, April 16.
