A search and rescue operation is underway to locate a kayaker missing from Tinaroo Dam in Yungaburra since yesterday, April 13.
Emergency services were called just after 3.30pm following reports a 62-year-old man had fallen from his kayak and failed to resurface.
Assets deployed to assist in the search yesterday include police on foot, Cairns Water Police, QGAIR Rescue 510 helicopter, and QFD Swift Water Rescue crews.
The search continued until approximately 8pm overnight and reconvened at first light this morning.
The search is ongoing today utilising police including water police and the dive squad along with SES volunteers, and QFD Swift Water Rescue crews.
Support services have been offered to the family of the man.
