Police are on scene at an incident at Arundel.
Initial information indicates that around 8.15am, a man wanted by police was sighted at Calvary Court in Labrador.
The man presented a firearm at police before fleeing in a stolen vehicle which eventually came to a stop on Brisbane Road in Arundel.
Around 9.30am, a second confrontation took place between the man and police, and the man was shot by police.
Medical assistance was immediately rendered by police and paramedics who attended the scene.
The man died from his injuries at the scene.
No further information is available at this stage.
This matter is under investigation by Ethical Standards Command, with the investigation subject to oversight by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
