A 54-year-old man has died following a fatal traffic crash on the Bruce Highway at Glenwood on Monday, February 3.

Initial investigations indicate at approximately 6.45am, a Volkswagen T-Cross was travelling north on the Bruce Highway when a rock went through the windscreen.

The driver, an international tourist, was initially airlifted to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in critical condition; however, has since passed away from his injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit continues to investigate the circumstances leading up to the incident and appeals to anyone who may have any relevant information or dashcam footage to come forward.
