Police are investigating following a break and enter at a tobacconist store at Eagleby in the early hours of this morning, December 31.
Around 3.30am, police were called to the River Hills Road business after reports two males dressed in dark clothing attempted to force entry to the rear of the shop, however, were unsuccessful.
The pair then attempted to gain entry to the front of the premises but were also unsuccessful.
They then set fire to items near the front of the business, however it was extinguished by members of the public and fire crews.
Initial information indicates that no other items were taken with some damage caused.
Anyone who saw any suspicious activity or may have relevant dashcam/vision in the area at the time is asked to contact police.
