A 53-year-old man has been charged following the alleged attempted murder of a 22-year-old man in Rosevale on December 26.
Around 6am, the 22-year-old Rosevale man was travelling along Rosevale Road in a Toyota Hilux.
He pulled over to the side of the road and exited his vehicle.
It will be alleged, the 53-year-old man, was travelling behind him in a Toyota Landcruiser, has pulled up behind the younger man and shot a firearm towards him, striking the Toyota Hilux.
The 22-year-old man has then fled the scene in his vehicle and sought refuge at a nearby service station in Aratula.
He was not physically injured.
Specialist police and POLAIR were deployed to the area, and the 53-year-old man was arrested in bushland around 1.30pm.
The 53-year-old Mount Chalmers man has been charged with Attempted Murder, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Authority required to possess explosives, Obstruct Police and Possession of a knife in a public place and is due before Ipswich Magistrates Court on 27 December 2024.
It will be further alleged the two men are unknown to each other.
Investigations are continuing.
